By offering a mixture of established tours and new opportunities Salamander aims to afford a truly memorable wildlife experience in 2008.
All our tours are accompanied by wildlife experts or local guides many of whom are actively involved in nature conservation in their region. Accommodation is generally based in ‘character’ buildings where personal exploration and individual walking opportunities are possible.
Those who have travelled with us before will appreciate that all our Salamander Wildlife Tours are designed to combine the broadest possible nature experience with cultural, historic and culinary experience.
2008 Photographic Tours
In November 2008 salamander wildlife tours are teaming up with professional Wildlife photographer Vic Sharratt to offer unique photographic tours for some of Europe ’s most spectacular mammals. Beginning in the Swiss National Park, before moving mid week to the Bavarian Forest Park, this tour will afford photographic opportunities in both wild and semi-captivity environments for alpine ibex, chamois, red deer, European bison, beavers, brown bear, lynx and wolves. Vic has travelled extensively world wide, guiding photography tours in Africa and Europe .
Also opening in June 2008 will be our very own photography and film unit with attached farm house accommodation for wildlife weekends in the west-country at Frankaborough farm. For further information visit www.westcountrywildlife.com
Wild Europe are also developing specialist field study tours for both specific interest and general land-use study groups. Excursions to date have focused on the development of ‘New Nature in the Netherlands ’, living with ‘Beaver in Bavaria ’ and ‘Remerging Wilderness’ learning to live with large predators in Poland . Details of these can be designed to suit our clients requirements and will incorporate specialist input from local field professionals.
